Way to sum it up well!

Thank you for sharing this post- I am still on the fence with what to do about Riley. I believe that he has the ability to speak and it is due to all his ear infections that he just didn't hear language well enough to imitate it before. I have seen his speech grow by leaps and bounds since the tubes were put in his ear (and NO ear infections since!) But I also agree with you that getting him some help sooner than later is what is best if he needs it. But I am so glad you shared your story and your journey with Blake's speech. I hope you will keep us updated! So glad you pushed and knew what was best for your boy!Pamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07156212038739784644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8779241084915059888.post-19803932096496306632009-03-24T16:08:00.000-04:002009-03-24T16:08:00.000-04:00Good job for knowing what Blake needed/needs and g...Good job for knowing what Blake needed/needs and getting it for him. :)Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00459630734943678141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8779241084915059888.post-52464071061114324512009-03-24T15:32:00.000-04:002009-03-24T15:32:00.000-04:00Good for you!! I find that what you had to go through is way to tough and many would have quit long before they got the needed help. In Maryland it is so much easier. You just have to call up, fill out a form, and they tell you when the next testing date is, you go and they tell you what is needed, if anything. It's almost like they want to test every child. It is so easy, no real hoops at all to jump through. The way I think that it really should be, otherwise, people would just take the first no as that, no. But, that's just my thought.Shoebeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07633800919594228559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8779241084915059888.post-64248881318889585252009-03-24T09:46:00.000-04:002009-03-24T09:46:00.000-04:00I am really glad they gave your the positive feedb...I am really glad they gave your the positive feedback about them saying it was good that you did what you did rather than questioning 'did i do the right thing'

I am glad it all went well. In some of the schools I have worked at it is clear that speech development varies a LOT with children ranging from grades k through 6 and it definitely does not have anything to do with cognitive development.Shaniliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05593299960759991222noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8779241084915059888.post-76517929774500107042009-03-24T09:25:00.000-04:002009-03-24T09:25:00.000-04:00I'm so happy you pushed it!
