random weekend thoughs

1. It can't be May already

2. Colby turns 11 months on Monday

3. I'm looking forward to going out tonight to dinner and then to see Frank Caliendo and Bill Engvall

4. Richard and I decided to back off on the potty training since it was going no where fast. Blake didn't want to sit on the toilet if he didn't need to go, and still wasn't letting me know when he did need to go... do you see a problem there??

5. Blake's speech therapist was pleased with his progress... we are still working on signs and adding more sounds

6. I trimmed Colby's hair today... no more mullet for my little one

7. Watching Blake and Colby chase around the couch is too funny... they are now having a lot more fun together

8. Richard and I were looking at hotels last night for a wedding reception we are going to in June and our Anniversary trip in July... I think we've found where we are going to book (o:

9. Colby is starting to be willing to eat more real foods... at this age Blake had 8 teeth and had given up baby food already... but I did start mixing milk with Colby's formula so at least we won't have that expense anymore

10. Well... I hope everyone has a great weekend and gets outside and enjoys the spring weather (even if we are already in summer weather)

  1. sounds like you made a good call on the potty training. Take a break for a few weeks and try again. No sense pushing it and getting no where but frustrated. Glad the boys are enjoying each other!

  4. Yeah for an upcoming night away...

So glad you decided to hold off on the potty training. I had to do that with Goose, when we started again, she was ready and took to it right away. I have watched parents struggle and drive themselves and the kids crazy all because they felt like they did not want to go backwards. I'm waiting with Rooney too.

  7. Eliza will sit on the potty sometimes-but not in the morning or right after her nap which is her best time to go. So..I just let her sit when she wants and don't push it-it will make you crazy fast. Glasd you are getting a night out. Enjoy!

  9. I don't blame you backing off on the potty training if it is not going well. Better that than make it such a huge fight that it gets worse instead of better. My friend has a son and he has proven to be much harder to train than my girl. I'm convinced boys are just less interested. It will come in time!

  10. Night away sounds great...Potty training when they are ready is the key, so you are wise to hold off for a bit since Blake is not interested right now. I am in awe that it is May too. Crazy how this year flew by.

  11. Hotels are always SO fun : ). Gary and I have stayed at some very nice ones for cheap. I always do priceline and request 4 stars. Have you ever tried that?

Take your time on the potty training. I had friends that stressed over it and I don't understand why. It happens when they are ready. Why fight it : )?
