Some of you have commented about our back porch. So I figured I'd actually show you what it looks like. We extended our porch and added the birdcage to it a few years ago. We originally had the whole section as grass, but converted 1/2 to a sandbox as Blake's 2nd birthday present.

view from grass corner (all three glass sliders slide out of the way so when we don't have the air on, we have a huge opening into our living room)
view from patio table corner (in front of the door to the "pool bath")
view from grill corner (next to slider opening)
The boys and I spend at least 1.5 hours out there every day. I can't wait until it is cool enough to turn off the air conditioner so they can go in and out as they want and the sand won't stick to every sweaty spot on them.
Now if we could only figure out a way to get the grass to live over the summer season, we'd be set (o:
That looks so fun! I love that you put a sandbox out there!
ReplyDeleteWow!! I LOVE it!! How great is that!!? My daughter would freak out to have that!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a wonderful setup. I am hoping when we expand (one day) we can incorporate something that makes it easy for the kids to come in and out and still be safe if i need to be in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. I love it. I wish it were not always so hot here. My boys would love to be outside more.
ReplyDeleteI love that special area you have created. I say go with artificial turf. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great patio. I wish we could spend all year outdoors! I hate putting on the boy's winter gear!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great space! It looks well used and isn't that the best part?
ReplyDelete:)
That is such a great place to hang out with the boys.. esp living in Florida and it being so hot and the sun so bright. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful and kid functional patio. I'd sure enjoy it too!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so fun!
ReplyDeleteWe have a big outdoor sandbox too. But everywhere the boys get sand on the grass, the grass starts to falter. Maybe you have that problem too?
