books

I was having a bit of blogger block last night, when I typically write my posts, and first thing this morning, the other thing I usually blog. I was on a walk with Colby and was just letting my mind wander. And this popped into my brain... don't ask me why or how, but it just did!

I am an avid reader and have been since I was a child. You can almost always find a book sitting on my nightstand, unless it had been moved in the day for a few minutes of reading time. I find that I can't settle at night until I've read at least 1 chapter of my book.

Over the years I have read a variety of types of books. I tend to find an author and read many of their books and then move on to another author. I tend to lean toward romantic and mystery books. I don't like smutty romance or gory mystery, but ones with a good story line.

At this time, I am big into reading authors who write book series. I hate when I get to the end of a book that I've been engrossed and and then feel like... what happened next? I find that when authors write at least a trilogy for a series I enjoy it a lot more.

My authors of choice right now are: JD Robb, David Balducci, Debbie Macomber, Nicholas Sparks and Adriana Trigiani.

I am reading a book by a new author, well new to me, I am really enjoying this one too. I think I'll have to pick up at least one more by her before I decide to include her in my list of author. The book I am reading right now is Between Sisters, by Kristin Hannah.

Are you an avid reader? What kind of books do you like to read? What are you reading now?

  1. I love to read too, but don't have much time! I like all kinds of books. As long as they keep me engrossed, I'll read it! I'm just about to start a book, Prisoner of Tehran.

  3. Hi I'm Amy and I'm a bookaholic! I love Kristin Hannah! Her best books are On Mystic Lake and Angel Falls! For a good Mystery out Diane Mott Davidson. If you have not read Jodi Piccoult then you should because you would love her! You should also read the Mercy Watson books By Kate DeCamillo to your kiddos because they are super super funny for both kids and parents!

  5. I love reading but haven't been reading lately. I guess I just need to make it more of a priority.

  6. As a librarian, of course I am an avid reader. I mostly read teen and junior fiction because they are quicker reads and have less junk in them.

Recently I have read Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, which I loved. Also Graceling by Kristin Cashore, the Shadow Children series by Margaret Haddix and Eon Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman.
