pregnancy update

I know I haven't said a lot about my pregnancy. That's because for the most part it's been pretty uneventful. Little to no morning sickness. I have felt the baby move since early on. Other than craving chocolate I haven't had a lot of issues.

But, this pregnancy was the total opposite of Blake's. If I hadn't seen 2 ultrasounds that told me I was having a boy I'd swear I was having a girl!

Anyway, I got a phone call today I never expected to get! I did not pass my 1 hour glucose test on Monday. So now I have to do a 3 hour test to have my levels even more closely monitored. I needed to score below 140 and I scored 149 so I'm so hoping it was a fluke thing.

On Friday I'm going to have my 3 hour test so maybe by next week I'll know if I have gestational diabetes or not. Just goes to show you can't assume anything!

  1. I had gestational diabetes with 2 of my 3 pregnancies. Wait and take your 3 hour test. Considering you are so close to the line, you may just pass. I would think by the time your 3 hours pass, your sugar levels will be back down. You have to "fail" 2 of the 3 levels to be considered diabetic. Try not to worry. It's manageable, if that's the case...... I'll be thinking of you!

  5. Ahhh yes! I had gestational diabetes with Sonia NOT fun but manageable. Don't worry, just eat lots of protein and high protein veggies!! NO pasta and NO potatoes!

  6. I had that happen to me with my first... but the 3 hour one (which is such a hoot I can't even explain... I treated myself to an Egg McMuffin at Rotten Ronnie's after)was normal. I think I had just eaten too close to the one hour test so that messed it up. Since you were not that much over I am thinking that's all it was with you too.

I'll be hoping so because it would just be more fun!

  8. I HATED HATED HATED that 3 hour glucose tolerance test. I had to do it, too because I had a borderline result after the 1 hour. But it was fine . . . it just sucked to have to wait around the stupid lab for 3 hours because I guess they didn't trust me that I wasn't going to "cheat"? IT SUCKS!

  11. Uneventful is good...but hopefully, like you said, the high glucose test was just a fluke! And yeah, it just shows that you can't tell if you're having a girl or boy by how the pregnancy is going...because mine is pretty much exactly the same as last time (we had a boy) and this time they ultrasound said GIRL! Weird. Good luck with the test though...
