blogging one handed

When Blake was a little itty bitty you could put him down in the bassinet awake and he'd just fall asleep on his own. Colby now that is a different story. (see this just goes into my whole thing of my boys are soooo opposite each other!)

Colby wants to be held and cuddled and fall asleep in your arms or on your lap. He would gladly lay there all day/night if you let him. I have found that he will fall asleep on his play mat if he's on his stomach, but I can't let him sleep on his stomach at night, or when I'm not RIGHT THERE with him.

I'm not looking forward to having to train him to fall asleep on his own. We had some issues with that with Blake when he was older and had to do the cry it out thing (no I'm not opening a debate on if this is a good technique or not!). I can already foresee that in our future with Colby too.

Oh well.. until then I will often be blogging one handed as Colby lays on me to fall asleep

  1. With my first (Avery) we had to pretty much hold him, rock him, whatever to sleep and then lay him down. Lauren, she has been MUCH better - you can lay her down and she just drifts off to sleep on her own. I hope it stays that way! Now with Avery, he knows when I put him in the crib it is bed time and he lays down to go to sleep. We went thru some rough times to get to that poing though.

  2. He is so sweet! You seem to be doing pretty well with one-handed blogging - that would drive me nuts!

  3. Emily is a cuddler too...although she does fall asleep on her own in the cradle most of the time...

  4. Audrey was rocked to sleep until she was one, and then it wasn't that hard to break her of it.

I just thought since she would be my last, I wanted to savor every minute of her!

  5. Awww! Y'all will figure it all out! Hope you're at least getting a little more sleep, too! Lillian's sleep patterns have been in waves. Sometimes she went right to sleep, sometimes it took forever. Sometimes she'd sleep through the night for weeks, others she's up five times.

  7. I'm trying to work this out too! Thank goodness Andrea blogged about the Sleepy Wrap 'cause without it I think it would have been a very long time before I began to blog again!

  8. You are lucky you can blog one hand. Eliza used to wake up. She loves to be held while she is asleep. She is a diva!
