on the move

Well Colby is definitely on the move now! Even more than the videos on Friday. He is also getting very fast! It's amazing how fast he can move even though he still isn't crawling. He sort of has his own method of movement. I call it his inchworm. He moves his knees forward then drops down to his stomach and moves his hands out then crawls up on his hands and knees so he can move his knees again.

Nothing is stopping him now. He is "crawling" over, on and around everything now. You can't even put him down in one room and expect him to stay there. When I do baths I take Colby out and leave Blake in the tub (the bathroom is between their two bedrooms), then I leave Colby playing with his toys in his room while I get Blake out of the tub. Yeah well yesterday I turn around and there is Colby coming into the bathroom. Today I put him down on one side of the living room and went to get his bottle I came back and he had gone around the couch and was headed to the kitchen.

Yesterday he actually figured out how to go from crawling to sitting on his own. And he can pull up to stand holding onto my fingers and is beginning to gain the strength to pull up holding onto other things (his favorite thing right now seems to be my hair). When he is standing he can stand on his own only holding on with one hand. He has figured out how to switch which hand is holding on without falling over too. Today he was holding onto his cruise and go with one hand and using the other to play with a ball. He loves to hold onto my hands and walk around the house. (one benefit of being vertically challenged is that I can do this for a while and not kill my back) My guess is as soon as he figures out how to pull up on the furniture he will be cruising . And if he's anything like his brother that means he will walk shortly after that. (but who knows... we will see what time frame he wants to take on)

Yes, my little kiddo is ON THE MOVE! Oh boy my life just got harder!

  1. Awww, they grow up so fast. I remember when both started doing these things. I was always sad when I new I could not set them down and expect them to stay in the same place. Yes, your world just got tougher... But, he is so darn cute.

  9. That is great (that it is not me). Just kidding! I'm just seriously sweating having two kiddos on the move. Madison is at least a little older and not as mischievious any more. Yay for Colby and can't wait to see videos of your little inchworm!
