New adventure?

Well potty training 101 started today. I decided that it was time since Blake had begun to recognize when he had peed, or at least let on that he knew he needed to be changed. I have him in training pants, and we are taking many trips to the bathroom. But, we've yet to actually pee in the toilet. The first time he peed was over 2 hours after he woke, about 8 minutes after we'd tried. The the second time was about 40 minutes later. The last time was about 1hr 15 minutes later which was about 10 minutes before I was going to take him back to the bathroom. (Hmmm maybe I need to make a spreadsheet to track his bathroom trips?? I'll have to think about that.)

The last time Blake grabbed himself as he begun to pee... yeah for baby steps! I know he will figure it out, and as for now he seems to be enjoying this.

I know how excited you all are about this (hahaha) soooo I made a chart on my sidebar so you could keep up with the laundry potty count.

  1. I loved the potty count. Oh how I am slacking on this. Potty training is my least favorite thing. I wish you the best, can't wait to hear how your week goes. Maybe it will motivate me.

  2. Good luck with that!!!!! I thought Caleb was ready because he always knew when he needed to be changed but when I tried I quickly realized that we are no where near there yet...either that or I just can't do it with Allie right now. Maybe it's the latter :)

Love your count...I see 3 in pants....sounds like lots of laundry :)

  4. Sounds like he is definitely showing signs which is a great time to have a go at training. It is so exciting when they get that look of recognition that says "I have to pee"

  5. You are too funny. Good luck..the grabbing is a positive step, Stunt Man still does that as he is dancing around denying he has to go pee. LOL

  7. A Potty counter...how cute! Hang in there....I know he's gonna do great! If he does wet his pants, don't rush to change him right away. I know that sounds cruel, but thats why they did for Wyatt at school. She said she made him stay wet for 5-10mins so he would be uncomfortable and sure enough, it worked. By day 3 he was accident free. He doesn't have accidents at school anymore, but he does at home occasionally if we arent mindful of how long its been and how much he's had to drink. But we've even gone shopping without a pullup and been fine.

  8. Don't laugh- I actually did make a spreadsheet when I potty trained Ashlyn. It helped me to see patterns and know when to take her to the potty. Good luck with the potty training!
