Color Mixing and sharpie tie dye

Our latest Tuesday project was color mixing. First we mixed colors by melting ice cubes.  I blogged about this project before.  Click here to see how.

Then we made tie dyed t-shirts with sharpie markers. I found this activity on Pinterest.

The kids had lots of fun doing this and it was really easy. I liked that the solo cup caught the colored alcohol so the mess was pretty much contained. One of my friends has an itty bitty so she made a onesie and didn't put the cup under it. the colors still spread, but not as well since you couldn't give it a good soaking.
