Food can be fun

As a kindergarten teacher, I understood the benefits of doing sloppy art projects, but often hesitated because of the clean up. When I worked with toddlers and preschoolers I was more willing to let them get messy.

As a mommy of a toddler I know that messes are a part of life, so why not just go for it. On the days that Blake gets a bath (he only gets one every other day because of his eczema) I let him have at it with his yogurt. Yes, I'm trying to get him to use a spoon, but what is the fun in that when you can just get it everywhere???

Thought you might enjoy a few pics and the video of party of our yogurt fun yesterday!

  1. I love it that you let your kid get messy! I know too many parents who are all about the clean, prim & proper was...LET KIDS BE KIDS, I say!

  3. Ah, always fun. We've always tried coordinating with bath time, too. Color Easter eggs right before bedtime. Makes life easier. Then plop in the tub and put to bed.
