How Richard and I met...

I left a reply on one of Laskigal's post a bit back with a comment about how Richard and I met... and she asked for the story. I promised I'd post it on our Anniversary sooooo here it is:

June 13, 2003

A group of teachers from my school and I had just finished a week long course on ESOL (English for students of other languages). We decided that a week in class during the summer deserved a reward so what did we do???? Go to happy hour of course.

One of the other teachers was moving to another part of FL so it was also a good luck / good bye happy hour for her. Let's call her "B"

I was sitting next to her at the table and another kindergarten teacher was across from me (we will call her "R"). Well B's nephew, Richard, was at the same sports bar having dinner with his roommate. He came over to say hi to "B" and buy her a drink.

When Richard pulled out his wallet I said to him "If you are giving out money, I'll take some too." He looked at me and said "I don't have another $10." I replied... "that's ok I take $20's or $50s... money is money"

Richard said "for $20 I'd at least like to get a phone number"

I laughed, but R quickly wrote down my cell phone number and gave it to him... she said "I'll take them money"

B gave me Richard's business card and later called Richard with my phone number. He called me the next day, and we went out on the 15th.

No he never did have to pay the $20
