Sequence for kids

I took a trip to Target with the boys last week to get new sneakers. It seems like I'm always getting them new sneakers, ok so it's the only shoes they wear (until sandal season is back), but must I replace them every 3 months?

While we were there they asked to walk through the toy section. I said, sure but we aren't getting toys. I'm one of those lucky mommies who can do this and they don't wig out over this toy or that that they HAVE to have right now. I decided to look at games since we play at least one game every night before bed.

I came across Sequence for Kids. We have the original Sequence which is a game that Richard and I both like to play so I figured why not?

If you are not familiar with the Sequence family of games, you might want to check it out.

In Sequence for Kids, each play chooses a color chip. You deal out three cards to each player. When it is your turn you choose one of your cards, and put your chip on that space on the board. You are trying to get four in a row. There is also a wild card and a remove card to help make it more interesting. All sequence games are played under the same premise, but with different skills being taught. Sequence for kids has animals on it. The original one is played with a double deck of cards. They also have letters, numbers, state capitals, and a dice version.

There is a lot of problem solving involved in this game. There is two of each picture on the board, so which one do I pick. Can I block my opponent from getting 4 in a row? Can I set myself up to win? When do I play my wild card? How can I best use the remove card?

This game is a lot of fun. I hope you check it out or whatever version is best for you and your kids.
