I'm going to try to get on the next few days and finish this update in a few blocks. I'm totally slacking on posting, reading, replying, etc... just know that it doesn't mean I'm not thinking of everyone, things are just busy. Richard took the week off and is trying to get some stuff done for work during Blake's naps as well as working on 2 of our other house computers. So my time on-line is limited to right before bed. But, I'd rather he have the time on the computer while Blake is sleeping then having me try to deal with Blake and Colby at the same time right now. Next week my mom is coming to help out so I should be able to get on a bit more during the day, but we will see....
Anyway! Onto the update for today...
Colby is doing great we took him to the doctors on Monday and he now weighs 7lb 11oz which is up an ounce from his discharge weight. We don't have to go back until the 19th. (much better than every other day I did with Blake)
We are still working on trying to figure him out, why don't they have programing manuals?? Somethings we have already figured out... he prefers to lay on his side compared to his back (yes, yes, YES I know all the research says that back to sleep is the best way for an infant to sleep, but we talked to his doctor and he sleeps on a sleep positioner and it is more of a modified back position than an actual side sleep.) He figured out nursing quickly, and other than a few minor issues he's pretty much a champ at it... now if I could only figure out how to convince him that his comfortable position is so NOOOOTTTTT comfortable for me!
He is sleeping in about 4 hour blocks at night which is a blessing! It still takes a bit of time to get him back to sleep but getting 3.5 hours of sleep at a time with a 6 day old... I don't think I can complain!
I have some new pics of him, but they are still on the camera... soon I'll post new pics!
Tomorrow... an update on Blake
