painting fun

On Monday, I decided to do an art project with the boys. After thinking for a few minutes I came up with this project.

Ok yep, I know you are now thinking ummm what are they doing? I put paint onto paper plates, added a bit of dish soap and water. Then gave them cookie cutters to use in the paint.

They had the letters to their names and some shapes. The boys had a blast and yes they did end up painting as much with their fingers, but since it was washable paint WITH more soap added clean up was pretty easy.

They then had a blast cleaning the cookie cutters in the sink.

  1. My kids still love to paint. I started mine off early too. I like to cut different vegetables and fruits to let them paint with too. Green peppers cut in their ring form make really cool prints.

  2. Looks fun!! Ryan won't touch paint unless he has a brush. He's not much for getting messy...lol.

  3. How fun! I love this idea! I love the cut up veggie idea too! Lillian loves paint - but she's a neat painter. When she finger paints, there's one color for each finger and they don't touch on the paper. She does not get this from me!
