2011 Review Extravaganza (part 3)

Grumpy Grateful Mommy

Time to update you on the third quarter of 2011. I hope you have enjoyed my recaps. This time we are on July, August and September.

July brought about the end to the Casey Anthony trial and since it was pretty much in my back yard, I posted about the verdict.

Another blog post that I really enjoyed typing was titled All is not fair. It is based on an article that I read in a magazine. But, it was even more spurned on my Blake playing t-ball and the fact that it was totally based on everyone being "fair" instead of learning to play baseball.

July is also the month of our Anniversary. Richard and I have been married for over 7 years now.

Another post I typed about making choices and how teaching children that they have choices in everything they do.

In August I decided that boys needed more structure so we started up a new schedule.

One thing we did was projects and I shared a few. Color mixing, straw fun, painting with cars and shaving cream and boat fun.

Since I was talking a lot about projects I also typed up a post about process vs product when it comes to children's art.

One thing mothers struggle with is the balance between doing things that need to be done and spending time with your children. I posted about All of me, some of me and none of me time each day.

August also brought the first day of pre-K for Blake.

I posted about showing young children that they can read and that the process of learning to read takes many steps.

I posted a reflection on 9/11.

I became a soccer coach and Colby played soccer for the first time.

And most important thing that happened in September?? We got Dixie! Photobucket
